Impressive Mini-Sculptures by Fanny Sandor

Fanny Sandor was fascinated with miniatures since childhood, building her first sculpture from toothpicks, candle wax, paper and glue at the age of six. At the age of twelve, she became acquainted with the first work of a professional miniaturist via the Internet and was impressed. Since then, it has become her favorite pastime.
Currently, the biologist and artist lives in Hungary and fascinates others with her work. This is a tiny mouse peeking out of a crumb of bread, and bright hummingbirds and microscopic lizards. With extensive experience in biology, Fanny shows incredibly accurate details in her miniatures, although these miniatures fit easily at your fingertips.
Ms. Sandor makes parts of her miniatures from two days to two weeks. For example, she spent three days on the nest. Its process is multifaceted and begins with the collection of photographs of the species to draw a prototype. Performing forms, the artist uses embossed and pin tools to sculpt animal figures from polymer clay and wire. After baking, she develops a few more details, dyes and, if necessary, attaches fur and feathers.
In 2016, Sandor became become a fellow at The International Guild of Miniature Artisans. You can see more works by the talented artist on her Instagram. All works by instagram/fanniminiature/
