Global chaos due to Microsoft outage
Computers are displaying the “blue screen of death,” with flights canceled and TV stations halted worldwide.
Sky News went offline, airports were unable to check in flights, railway services were disrupted, and banks warned customers of potential payment issues.
The Down Detector website reported disruptions for companies such as Delta Airlines, Visa, Mastercard, Lloyds Bank, Santander, Amazon, RyanAir, Sky News, Ladbrokes, BT, and Microsoft Teams.
RyanAir advises arriving three hours before flights due to global IT problems.
It is known that the outage occurred due to an update from Crowdstrike. The update has been rolled back, but issues for already affected systems remain.
These can be resolved by removing the update and restarting the computer.
